Nottuk uses a sign-in cookie and a small amount of browser storage for display preferences. There is no advertising cookie and no third-party analytics cookie.
Session cookie
When you sign in, the app sets a session cookie named better-auth.session_token. On HTTPS the name may be __Secure-better-auth.session_token. The cookie keeps you signed in. It is required for the app to know which account is making a request. Clearing it signs you out.
The matching session record can include an IP address and browser user agent so the sign-in can be recognized and expired. See the Privacy policy for what else is stored with your account.
Preferences in the browser
These values live in local storage on your device. They are not sent to the server as account data.
- theme — light, dark, or system appearance.
- nottuk-accent — the accent color you pick in the app.
Clearing site data for Nottuk removes these preferences. The app falls back to its defaults.
What we do not use
- Advertising or marketing cookies.
- Third-party analytics cookies.
- A cookie banner that opts you into tracking. There is nothing to opt into.
How to control them
You can delete cookies and site data from your browser settings, or sign out from the account menu, which ends the session. Blocking the session cookie prevents sign-in. Blocking local storage only resets theme and accent.
